The Rubber Room

Some notes, thoughts & reminiscences

Ollie:

The Rubber Room is quite a bluesy song but I think it still has a heaviness worthy of the Sevenchurch name and also some excellent lyrics from Martin.

Martin left the band soon after this recording session and that prompted us to split the band up and start afresh. That got us out of the record deal and gave us the opportunity to experiment even more with the Sabbath/Southern Rock mix. We became August (later renamed Earth Machine). The songs on this EP remained a part of the early life of that band. I wrote new lyrics to replace Martin's for the songs Rubber Room and Magnolia and they became Medicine Mountain and Moan Day Sorrow.
